The
Inventors . . .Tom and Susan Dunlap
Tom and Susan Dunlap
have been married since 1978 and in April of 1980 Tom developed acute
ulcerative colitis. By October, he h
ad
lost 85 pounds and underwent a proctocolectomy with an Ileostomy to
save his life. Fortunately the surgery was successful and Tom recovered.
This young married couple now had to face a future life together with
an Ileostomy. Susan was a critical care nurse and knew the importance
of resuming “normalcy” after a medical event. Everything
was becoming as normal as before . . . except for close intimate times.
Over the years, Tom and Susan experimented with a variety of appliance
covers worn during intimacy. From bulky bag covers to your standard
pair of underwear or athletic supporter, it had to be pulled to the
side to envelope and conceal the appliance. No matter what, this bag
hanging from the side of Tom’s lower abdomen never allowed him
to appear naked and feel sensuous. The need for a garment that is
sexually appealing and delivers both to the user and their partner
a feeling of nakedness was long overdue.
Now . . . after years of trial and error, our patented design is a
reality with the look and feel of being sexy while concealing the
appliance.
